Saint Bernard School is proud to celebrate Matthew Donnelly ’06 on receiving the Edyth May Sliffe Award for Distinguished Mathematics Teaching from the Mathematical Association of America — a national honor recognizing exceptional middle and high school educators who inspire students through mathematical problem-solving.

Through his dedication to challenging and supporting students, Mr. Donnelly has helped countless Saints develop confidence, creativity, and a deeper love for mathematics.

“Receiving this award means that I have been blessed with many years of talented, motivated students, and I am very grateful for the support I have received from Saint Bernard School, first for four years as a student and now for fourteen years as an educator,” Donnelly shared.

Selected from more than 240 nominations nationwide, Mr. Donnelly also received a $500 stipend and support to attend a national mathematics conference.

We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and grateful for the impact he continues to make in our classrooms every day.
