March Students of the Month

March Students of the Month Named

Two students have been recognized as March Students of the Month at Saint Bernard School -  sophomore Connor Ullrich and Zhuning Gao, a seventh-grader.

Every month during the school year, the Student of the Month Committee selects one middle school student and one high school student for exhibiting the Xaverian Brothers spiritual values of humility, trust, zeal, compassion and simplicity.

The honorees

Connor, 16, of Yantic, plays baseball and basketball. He plays sports outside of school and donates items to various needs in the community.

His teachers describe Connor as kind, polite, funny and hard-working. They say he tries his best daily in class.

Connor calls Saint Bernard School a “great community”. “It’s fun to be here and everyone is really nice and helpful,” he says.

Zhuning, 13, of Groton, is involved in the school string ensemble, piano studios, harp studio and fencing.

Her teachers say she pushes herself academically and goes out of her way to help any classmate who might be struggling. She is also noted for being kind to others and always having a smile on her face.

“My friends are very courteous and help me with many activities/work that I have trouble with. Meanwhile, I get to help them out, too!” she says.
