May Students of the Month
May Students of the Month Named
Two students have been recognized as May Students of the Month at Saint Bernard School – Andrew Lemire, a senior, and Abi D’Amico, an eighth-grader.
Every month during the school year, the Student of the Month Committee selects one middle school student and one high school student who have been nominated for exhibiting the Xaverian Brothers spiritual values of humility, trust, zeal, compassion and simplicity.
Andrew, 17, of Groton, is involved in many school activities including fencing, tennis, orchestra, praise choir and Bel Canto honors choir. He is a member of National Honor Society, Tri-M music honor society, Mu Alpha Theta math honor society, and International Thespian Society.
Andrew has played various prominent roles in drama productions by the Saints Players, and also serves as president of the Millionaire’s Club. Aside from his school involvement, he was most recently commended by school staff for taking the lead of the student interpretation of Living Stations of the Cross.
Andrew, who will graduate in a few short weeks, says he has enjoyed “being with my Saint Bernard family” at SBS over the past seven years.
Abi, 13, of Salem, plays lacrosse and soccer, and serves on Student Council. She really enjoys art. Outside of school, Abi helps children during vacation bible school and soccer camp, and occasionally volunteers at a local soup kitchen.
Teachers say Abi is thoughtful, friendly, and willing to help others, and that she always wears a smile.
Abi says she enjoys the atmosphere at SBS because “you can be accepted no matter how unique you are.”
