March Students of Month Recognized
Congratulations to the March Students of the Month at Saint Bernard School: Shem Adams, eighth grade, and John Paul Peck, a freshman.
Students are nominated for this honor by their teachers for exhibiting the Xaverian values of humility, trust, compassion, simplicity and zeal.
Shem, 14, of New London, plays basketball both inside and outside of school, and enjoys video editing.
His teachers say Shem is a model student as a virtual learner. He is responsive, actively engaged, and focused on his studies.
“I like the education and the time that the teachers put into helping guide me to learn,” he says. “And I love being part of the basketball community at Saint Bernard’s.”
John Paul, 14, of Colchester, participates in baseball, basketball, Mock Trial and Student Council. Outside of school, he is in Boy Scouts, martial arts, debate club and travel baseball.
Teachers describe John Paul as humble and kind, and diligent in his studies. He is active in class discussions and routinely reaches out to help his fellow students. He is a hard worker and is always finding ways to engage his classmates, teachers say.
“I like being able to be myself in the small and safe environment that the school has, and I love the relationships that I have established with my friends and teachers,” says John Paul. “I look forward to coming to school every day, and I hope other people are able to love St. Bernard’s as much as I do.”
