November Students of the Month Named

Congratulations to our November Students of the Month: Mason Panas, sixth-grade, and Allison Codner, 12th grade.

Every month throughout the school year, the Student of the Month Committee selects one middle school student and one high school student who exemplify the XBSS values of trust, humility, simplicity, zeal, and/or compassion.

The honorees

Mason, 12, of Ledyard, participates in tennis, band and orchestra. His teachers say he is a dedicated worker and is kind and supportive of his peers. He recently was observed exhibiting kindness and compassion while speaking with a classmate who was having a difficult time.

“I like being a Saint because the teachers are great,” he says.

Allison, 17, of New London, participates in many school activities including indoor and outdoor track. Additionally, she is a member of the Silver Cross Society, National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society. She also serves as one of our school’s XBSS leaders.

Aside from being actively engaged in her school community, staff members say Allison is a true leader. While attending a college workshop in the School Counseling office, Allison went out of her way to help other students get ideas for their college essays by helping them to create idea webs, according to staff.

A student at SBS for the past five years, Allison says, “the ability to reach out and connect with others is one of the things Saint Bernard (School) has enabled me to do.”
