Two Named October Students of Month

October Students of the Month

Congratulations to the October Students of the Month at Saint Bernard School:  Tye Masucci, seventh grade, and Zane Kingsborough, ninth grade.

Every month throughout the school year, the Student of the Month Committee selects one middle school student and one high school student who exemplify the XBSS values of trust, humility, simplicity, zeal, and/or compassion.

The honorees

Tye, 12, of Ledyard, participates in cross-country, middle school band, and Glee - our new middle school show choir. Over the summer, he spent two weeks on a Conservation and Community Service Learning Project in Costa Rica.

Although it’s early in the school year, his teachers say Tye has already been demonstrating a lot of compassion for his peers. He encourages his classmates and is always willing to help others without being asked.

Tye has attended SBS for the past two years and says, “the best part is being in a loving and caring environment that will always support you.”

Zane, 15, of Montville, plays lacrosse and attends Revelation Church in Norwich. He is a four-year student at SBS which, he says, shows “what it feels like to be part of a family.”

During the first few weeks of school, teachers noticed Zane helping both middle school and international students find their way to the correct class, and assisting them with how to open their lockers.

Recently, Zane was noted as being thoughtful and kind for helping an older school employee carry bags and load them into her car. Teachers also say Zane has been asking great questions in class.
