Scholarships

 

Saint Scholarship - Current Saint Bernard School 8th graders

This four-year renewable scholarship is open to all current Saint Bernard 8th grade students*. Five Saint Scholar scholarships will be awarded.  Students must have at least a B+ average in 6th and 7th grade and the first semester of 8th grade.  In addition to demonstrating academic excellence, applicants should also exhibit dedication to community service, leadership and citizenship. 

Students can fill out the Saint Scholarship application beginning January 1, 2024. All applications and supporting documents are due by February 16, 2024.

Students who apply for financial aid by completing the FACTS Grant and Aid application are also considered for Diocesan and Endowed scholarships. *Children of current Saint Bernard School employees are not eligible for this scholarship.

Saint Scholarship - Incoming Freshman

Each year the Saint Scholarship is given to four incoming freshman*. This four-year renewable scholarship is open to all new incoming domestic students with an active application for the 9th grade. Students must have at least a B+ average in 6th and 7th grade and the first semester of 8th grade. In addition to demonstrating academic excellence, applicants should also exhibit dedication to community service, leadership and citizenship. 

Students can fill out the Saint Scholarship application beginning January 1, 2024. All applications and supporting documents are due by February 16, 2024.

In addition to Diocesan and Endowed scholarships, families may apply to the three outside scholarships listed below. Some of these scholarships may have application deadlines.

James A. Greenleaf, Jr., Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Greenleaf Scholarship is available to students entering grade 9. It was established in memory of Jim Greenleaf, alumnus from the class of 1987, who lost his life in the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center. This scholarship will be awarded to one student for a FULL tuition scholarship for each year of high school at Saint Bernard School. The runner-up will receive a scholarship for $2,500 for each year of high school at Saint Bernard School. There are also several $500 book awards.  Click here for more information.

 

Margaret Twomey-Reagan Scholarship

Open to graduates of St. Joseph School, New London. Application and information about the scholarship will be sent to your home. If you have any questions, please contact the Advancement Office. 

 

The John T. And Helen Mooney Memorial Scholarship

The Mooney Scholarship is available to students entering grades 10,11 or 12. This scholarship, established in 1998, honors the parents of seven Saint Bernard alumni, who together, select a recipient of the scholarship each year.
